Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SaffronSeal — the website, mobile apps, API and related services (together, the “Platform”) operated by Nyza Creations LLC, a Washington limited liability company doing business as SaffronSeal (“SaffronSeal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.

These Terms contain a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver (Section 13). It affects how disputes between you and SaffronSeal are resolved. Please read it.

1. What SaffronSeal is

SaffronSeal is a marketplace that connects people who need a document notarized (“Customers”) with independent, commissioned notaries public (“Notaries”) who offer their services through the Platform, and it collects a platform fee on each booking. SaffronSeal itself does not perform notarizations, apostille filings, or any notarial act, and it does not employ Notaries. Every notarization is performed solely by the individual Notary the Customer books — an independent contractor who is not an employee, partner, or agent of Nyza Creations LLC. Our Notary Agreement governs that relationship.

The Platform is for everyday notarial acts: acknowledgments, jurats, oaths and affirmations, signature witnessing, copy certifications and the documents that need them (wills, powers of attorney, affidavits, vehicle titles, Form I-9, travel consents and similar). SaffronSeal does not arrange loan-document signings or real-estate closings, and it does not operate a remote online notarization platform of its own: a Notary who offers online sessions hosts them on a platform approved by their commissioning state (see Section 5).

2. Where we operate

Notaries commissioned in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia may join the Platform. Customers can book wherever an approved Notary is available within reach of the signing address, or by remote online notarization where the signer's state authorizes it. Coverage varies by area and is never guaranteed. Where no Notary is available we will tell you so and offer to notify you when one is.

3. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• You can sign in with an email and password, with Google, with Apple, or with a passkey. You are responsible for the security of whichever method you use and for everything done under your account.
• You must keep your contact details accurate. We rely on your email address to send booking details, receipts and refund notices, and we may require it to be confirmed before you can book.
• Accounts are role-based (Customer, Company, Notary or Admin). We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, provides false credentials, or creates risk to other users.

4. Bookings and the marketplace role

When you book a Notary through SaffronSeal you enter into a direct arrangement with that Notary for notarial services. SaffronSeal facilitates discovery, scheduling, messaging, document handling and payment. We are not a party to the notarial act, we do not supervise or control how a Notary performs it, and we do not guarantee that any particular Notary or service (for example remote online notarization, hospital signings, or same-day appointments) will be available in your area.

5. Remote online notarization

Some Notaries offer remote online notarization (“RON”) where their commissioning state authorizes it. The video session is hosted by the Notary on a third-party RON platform approved by that state, not by SaffronSeal. The Notary will send you the session link, verify your identity as the law requires, and retain the recording for the period their state mandates. SaffronSeal is not the RON technology provider and does not store the session recording.

6. Prices, fees and payments

• Itemized pricing. Every booking price is shown as separate lines before you confirm: the notarial act fee, the service fee, and any priority charge. The notarial act fee is held at or below the statutory maximum for the signing state and is paid 100% to the Notary.
• Service fee. The service fee is SaffronSeal's marketplace fee for travel, scheduling, messaging, document handling and support. It is in addition to the notarial act fee and is not required by law. Your agreement to it is given when you confirm the booking. SaffronSeal retains 20% of the service and priority lines as its platform fee and passes 80% to the Notary.
• Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and charged to Nyza Creations LLC's Stripe account; SaffronSeal is the merchant of record. Using payment features means you also agree to Stripe's Services Agreement. Your payment method is charged when you confirm the booking. Notaries are paid separately after the signing is complete, through their own Stripe Connect account.
• Cancellations and refunds follow our Refund Policy, which is applied automatically.

7. No legal advice

Neither SaffronSeal nor the Notaries you find through it provide legal advice, and using the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship. A notarization confirms identity and witnesses a signature; it is not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney. If a Notary you book is also an attorney, that fact alone does not create an attorney-client relationship through SaffronSeal.

8. Notary law and state variation

Notarial acts must comply with the law of the Notary's commissioning state and, where applicable, the law governing the signer's location. What is permitted, what a Notary may charge for the act, and whether remote online notarization is authorized all vary by state. SaffronSeal applies the rules it has on file for each state to what can be booked there, and requires every Notary to confirm they are authorized to perform a given act before accepting it.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or request a notarial act you know to be fraudulent;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, role or credentials;
• Circumvent SaffronSeal to pay a Notary you met through the Platform outside of it;
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Platform's normal operation; or
• Post reviews or content that are false, defamatory or harassing.

10. Reviews, messages and community standards

If you submit a review or rating, you grant SaffronSeal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce and distribute it as part of the Platform. Messages are delivered only to the other person in the conversation, and are seen by our team only when one of you reports them or asks for help with the booking. You are solely responsible for content you submit and confirm it is truthful and your own.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Do not post or send anything harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, fraudulent or spam, and do not share someone else's personal information without their permission. Offensive language in messages is masked automatically.

In every conversation you can report a message or a person, and block the other person, which stops messages in both directions. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and may remove content, suspend or close accounts, or cancel bookings. You can also reach us at support@saffronseal.com.

11. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY NOTARY WILL BE AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA, THAT A NOTARIAL ACT WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY THIRD PARTY, OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

12. Limitation of liability and indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nyza Creations LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the platform fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim or (b) $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law. You agree to indemnify and hold Nyza Creations LLC harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or (for Notaries) your performance of a notarial act, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

13. Governing law, arbitration and class action waiver

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to email legal@saffronseal.com with a description of the dispute and to work with us in good faith for 30 days to resolve it.

Binding arbitration. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator. The arbitration will be held in Kitsap County, Washington, or by video at your election. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or to stop unauthorized use of the Platform.

Class action waiver. You and SaffronSeal agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@saffronseal.com with your name, the email on your account and the words “arbitration opt-out” within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Venue for anything else. Any claim that is not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kitsap County, Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms here and update the “Last updated” date; material changes will be flagged more prominently, and changes that affect fees or dispute resolution will not apply to a booking already confirmed. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
