VN Signing Services LLC (“we,” “us”) is actively building SaffronSeal and onboarding notaries state by state. Nationwide search and booking are open today, but notary density is still growing in many areas, and features described below may change as we learn.
This document is a good-faith template written for a pre-launch marketplace. It has not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney in every state we operate in, and it is not legal advice. We will update it, with notice, as our legal review finishes and as SaffronSeal moves out of beta.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SaffronSeal — the website, mobile experience, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”) operated by VN Signing Services LLC(“VN Signing Services,” “SaffronSeal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Platform.
SaffronSeal is a marketplace that connects people and companies who need a document notarized (“Customers” and “Companies”) with independent notaries public and signing agents (“Notaries”) who offer their services through the Platform. SaffronSeal itself does not perform notarizations, apostille filings, or any notarial act. Every notarization is performed solely by the individual Notary the Customer or Company books — an independent contractor who is not an employee, partner, or agent of VN Signing Services LLC. Our Notary Agreement governs that relationship in detail.
When you book a Notary through SaffronSeal, you are entering into a direct arrangement with that Notary for notarial services. SaffronSeal facilitates discovery, scheduling, in-app messaging, document handling, and payment — but SaffronSeal is not a party to the notarial act itself and does not supervise, direct, or control how a Notary performs it. Availability of specific services (for example, Remote Online Notarization, hospital signings, or same-day appointments) depends on the Notary you book, the laws of the relevant state, and Notary availability, and is never guaranteed by SaffronSeal.
Payments on SaffronSeal are processed by Stripe, Inc. Using the Platform's payment features means you also agree to Stripe's Services Agreement. When you pay for a booking, your payment is charged to VN Signing Services LLC's Stripe account — SaffronSeal is the merchant of record for that charge, not the Notary. The applicable platform fee is disclosed to you before you confirm a booking.
Notaries are paid separately: after a booking is completed, we transfer the Notary's share of the fee from our Stripe balance to the Notary's own Stripe Connect account, which they set up and control. SaffronSeal is not a bank and does not hold Notary earnings beyond the ordinary time it takes Stripe to process that transfer. See our Refund Policy for cancellations and refunds.
Neither SaffronSeal nor the Notaries you find through it provide legal advice, and using the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship. Notarization confirms identity and witnesses a signature — it is not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney. If a Notary you book happens to also be an attorney, that fact alone does not create an attorney-client relationship through SaffronSeal, and we are not responsible for any legal advice a Notary may separately provide to you.
Notarial acts, including Remote Online Notarization, must comply with the law of the Notary's commissioning state and, where applicable, the law governing the signer's location. What is legally permitted — and which Notaries can offer it — varies by state and changes over time. SaffronSeal requires every Notary to confirm they are authorized to perform a given act before accepting a booking, but availability of any specific service in your state is never guaranteed.

If you submit a review, rating, or other content to the Platform, you grant SaffronSeal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute it as part of the Platform. You're solely responsible for content you submit and confirm it is truthful and your own.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SaffronSeal is in public beta: features, pricing, and notary availability are still being built out and may change or be temporarily unavailable without notice. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any specific Notary will be available in your area or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VN Signing Services LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the platform fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold VN Signing Services LLC harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or (for Notaries) your performance of a notarial act, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
TODO(hardik): confirm the governing-law state and dispute-resolution venue (and whether we want an arbitration clause) once VN Signing Services LLC's formation state and counsel are finalized.
We may update these Terms as SaffronSeal grows out of beta. We will post the revised Terms here and update the “Last updated” date above; material changes will be flagged more prominently. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
